And I didn’t even mention it in my blog 😉 what kind of a blogger am I?!
It took a little bit more than a year to make this project, that started as an “understanding” that if I want to make a physical CD, I will probably have to make it right NOW. After couple of months the idea of adding 2nd CD came into the system, cause I had a bit too many tracks for one CD, and the Live recording was added last to make this CD a “collectors item” in a way. I can admit that I am pretty much happy about the whole achievement, and it wasn’t a “smooth sailing” all along the way. There were indeed some periods of time that I wasn’t sure if I was to finish this CD or not…
Those that want to purchase the physical CD, and enjoy the triple Digipack, with booklet and all the info’s and art and photo’s should press here.
Those that fancy the digital versions have many various options:
So July started with quite a “bang” with probably busiest week an artist can handle, more or less a gig a day since Monday… So after playing a beach club “Galina” in Tel Aviv harbor on Monday night, leaving it packed with intense and energetic crowd, I headed to Izmir, Turkey for Tree Of Life Festival, event that was held the first time around, and turned out to be fantastic hippie retreat!!
Arrived there with my mate Capo ( Liquid Soul ) on the last day of the festival, to find a great energetic and positive tribe, that has it all about them to create a totally outstanding experience. Capo was playing before me, and was outstanding as he always is. Playing last set for this crowd and on that sound system OMG what was that ( made in Bulgaria ) was like the best possible thing I could think of before I left Israel… 2.5 hours of bliss and cross genre music oh yeah  Add to that fantastic local food ( lamb shawarma… yum yum ) and best artist treatment from the crew – thanks so much Robin and Wendy, you simply are the best ever.
After a quality sleep @ Izmir Airport Hotel, I went on to the flight back to Israel to continue the mad week, another peak of which was yesterday, Friday afternoon on yet another cool beach this time @ Haifa, was another packed energetic and happy event, one to remember!! And I have to add, it’s so nice that a party place has it’s own kitchen The artist never leaves home hungry…
That brings us to today, have two gigs more to this crazy weekend, both in Center of Israel, both organized by friends and expectations are high…
Next weekend Perfectly Strange tunage will travel North, to the Goa Highway between Berlin and Hamburg, or more accurately put to the infamous “Otto-Lilienthal Airport” in Stölln, Germany, for “Antaris Project” .
I will play there Live on Sunday noon time just before Zen Mechanics, and right after him, will play BLT DJ set to be followed by LOUD, so that looks like one healthy afternoon to me… Gonna spend a few days at that Festie, expect it to be a good fun
And weekend later, on the 20th of July to be exact, I gonna visit Canada once again, this time for Live performance @ Motion Notion Festival will play a night time 2hr long live set, the location is not far from totally AMAZING and Canada is ( as I said few blogs before about 9 months ago… ) FUN FUN FUN
So I have updated the Video Gallery part of my page with some new ones, mostly filmed @ the amazing Indigo Festival 2012, in Israel. Since I was recording the whole Live act to include it on my forthcoming album ( more info about that later on… ) so I had good quality recordings of all the live, incl crowd recording – some of these videos, I simply changed the audio track to the same one but from the original recording, making it much higher quality Example:
Also there is a really well appreciated release, already more than a month now in the tops of Psy Trance charts of Beatport, of my remix to Rocky & Sphera’s track “The Darkness” – thanks to everyone for the support in purchasing the music you like!! You can find the direct link to the track @ Beatport here
As we already have noticed before, blog, is a funny little something that if not taken frequent care of, dies out. My last post here was more than 6 months ago… Which makes this blog pretty dead I guess.
But there is one good thing in being dead and that’s that it can’t go any worse than it already is so the only way from that state is up. Will spend more time on this space, making it more living from now on.
One of the reasons for my absence from this space, was that I was really busy in the studio, and honestly, there is not much stuff to write being locked in the studio… But that stage, with the finalization of my album, had ended ( god bless ). I will post a special one about what is there in the package, including artwork and track list.
Here is a clip which was made out while recording CD03 from my album @ Indigo Festival 2012, Sea of Galilee, Israel
And another one showing me distributing some promo mixed CD’s to the audience… You can expect that in the future
Last weekend I had the shortest ever time spent in Australia… Came in for 32 hours.. That’s a bit a mad house to be honest, not sure will do this again, but now I am already @ a Bangkok Airport lounge so only left Bangkok – Vienna and Vienna – Tel Aviv. Relatively to what I had already – a piece of cake…
I visited a special event yesterday here in Israel. I wasn’t playing there, and it’s part of my belief that artist, no matter how busy he is, should attend some parties in order to party, just to remember what he actually likes, how he likes it, and what has changed during the time he wasn’t at the dance floor, as what we see from the DJ stand is only our subjective reality..
Moksha crew in Israel, been running their brand parties for over a decade now. I remember playing the first party with them back in 2001, near Benyamina ( small town 1 hour drive north from Tel Aviv ) as BLT, and was a frequenter at their events ever since. Moksha’s “turning point” from where I stand happened 5 years ago, when they have produced their first “Sunset to Sunset” event – 24 hour rave at the Jewish New Year – Rosh Hashana. From my perspective, Moksha guys simply decided to move forward and not only think out of the box, but to risk and invest big sums of money into their production ( way more than what been used to until then ) and this way to create an extremely hyped up event. Their move brought with it very big success in all parameters, and Sunset to Sunset became a traditional Rosh Hashana party in Israel. So far the heads up of this small article.
The “story” behind this specific Sunset to Sunset event was to do with the big retro movement in Israel and around the world, that brings back the Psy Trance / Goa Trance of the 90’s, and had to do with the nowadays legendary label “Flying Rhino” that came with a storm at late 90’s and offered some of the best UK psy sound ever made. The lineup obviously boasted mainly old school music direction from Flying Rhino label, with help of local talent ( Eyal Yankovich Hommega head honcho and D-Addiction solo project of ex Quantize Adi Ashqeazi to name but a few ) and one guy called Man With No Name.
For me personally the ultimate highlight of the party was when Dick Trevor played Green Nuns of The Revolution DJ set, right after Man With No Name around noon time. I must admit that I always been a fan of the GNOTR style, very fresh and super dirty, full with humor psychedelic music, no dull moment. I also have to admit that Dick Trevor and James Monro are my personal friends and are dear people to me ( so anyone that feels its a suck up article can stop reading now 😉 ). But the GNOTR DJ set, blasted me away… The tunes I loved from the past and those that I didn’t fully recognize just made a big neuron parade in my head and I had the best time – way to go!! I had such a good time, that I danced my way up till the first row of punters ( and there were few thousands of them ) to express my love and gratefulness for the old music that probably came ahead of it’s time, as it sounded so fresh still. While doing that 😉 I witnessed mr Trevor ( that normally radiates good vibes ) simply ping ponging love between himself and the huge crowd – and realized…
Ain’t it the best feeling in the world, being an Artist with 20 years of hard work behind you, coming to a huge party that is actually a tribute event for your efforts in last 20 years and get so much appreciation from the public? Especially today, when Artists have such a hard time to get acknowledgement from wide public, and the musical industry sales are on the constant decline, I think that this moment is pure bliss.
After yet another week in Canada I can say that once again. Canada is always fun fun!! Arrived to Canada on Saturday the 17th of September straight into a cold cold night ( 3 degrees celsius ) after leaving Israel with its 33 that was quite a shock I must admit. Had to bring with me most of my Russian looking gadgets to keep me warm 😉
It was cold
The party goers weren’t really impressed by the low temperatures ( understandable – they have also 20 under so hardly over a zero is not that impressive indeed ) and had a ball, also the night deco of the whole area was extremely well done, using the natural advantages of the place ( water ponds, and large amounts of pretty scary & awesome statues of faces all around the premises )
Performing in front of Canadian crowd is always a blessing, very rarely I have crowds that follow every little bit of my tunes and react as Canadians do, even the 3 times we had electricity failure due to water that managed to get into an electricity socket, couldn’t take over the great vibe that was in the tent, and I wish all my gigs would be as good as that one that I played in Harvest festival.
The morning brought with it the warmth and it was great to peel off clothes and enjoy the sunny day that greeted us and sent me to check around the magical place I was so lucky to visit.
After the long and warm day under northern Sun, we drove back to another magical place to chillax and recuperate for couple of days:
Many of you folks probably know my track with DJ Pena – Ode Ao Sol.. Back 5 years ago, it was quite a big song.
It was also remixed to death by different artists like Vibrasphere, Eitan Reiter, Elegant Universe to name a few, and definitely the biggest of them was minimal techno remix made by Russian duo Moonbeam..
So there is new remix to this song under our sleeves, done by Liquid Soul, and we love it moreover, it will be released on Perfecto Fluoro compilation @ November 2011, hand picked by Paul Oakenfold!!
It took me some time to deliver but here it is, the sequel to “When you need to shoot, shoot – don’t talk, part I The Talker” is here.
It took me a while to make the sequel to “The Talker”.. “The Shooter” the idea was not to choose the obvious “top 10 candidates” bomb tracks, but to create a relentless psychedelic experience that creates enough dramas, peaks, downfalls, and mood swings that even the toughest would get overwhelmed During the period that is just before release of “The Talker” and until now ( around 6 months in all ), I was collecting material, old and new, creating different combinations and testing them – some of you probably danced to them in the parties I played.. The best bits of that material presented here. Enjoy the ride!
Hey I happen to be a big fan of RSF ( Rainbow Serpent Festival ). I played there twice 2009, 2011, and for me at least, it’s favorite place on earth to have fun Ofcourse there are many best festivals, and many of them I like alot both to play and to dance, but each and every one of us has his favorite, and RSF is mine
They made a promo video for the festival that shows much better than my clumsy words, what that event is all about, so here it is:
Oz is a far one for traveling indeed, but ones of you that have the chance to do it, should do it by all means!
